ANDY'S HARLEY'S

I bought the bike new in march 07, its a harley fatboy. i was well pleased with it but not overjoyed when i pulled in at big ds last summer and there were two identical to mine in the carpark! something had to be done. from the word go it had been stage oned, with vance and hines short shot exhausts put on it. made it sound like a harley and not a bloody sewing machine. then i had to replace the standard number plate when i took someone on the back who wasnt holding on properly and his back hit it and snapped it in half! then, i came across some second hand supreme legend forward controls at a good price. the existing footboards went, i was never keen on them as they constantly ground down. winter came so it was time to take it off the road and get the paint job done that you see in the pics. the fluted ends of the standard mudguards were never really to my liking so i took a hacksaw to them! the taillight and new numberplate was removed and a plate welded into the resuting hole.i gave them a rough idea as to what i was looking for and thats the result. pretty good i think. also while it was off the road i managed to scrape the money together for a big bore kit, taking it from 1584cc to 1690, using screaming eagle barrels and pistons. the seat base had to be re shaped to fit the stretched zodiac tank that i replaced the stock one with. i took the seat base and had it re-covered and the padding took out to lower it slightly. ive also replaced the handlebar grips with supreme legend ones, though i havnt any pics of them yet. im at the stage now of putting it all back together, more pics shortly when its all in one piece.

This Is A New Project Im Doing. Its A 1984 Shovelhead

Another challenge is underway! this is my lowrider shovel at a very early stage of the proceedings. this all came about due to my placing a bid for it on ebay and then forgetting about it for a few days, thinking i wouldnt get it at the rock bottom bid i put in. (the only bid i could afford as it happens). When i eventually remembered about it i only checked up to see how much it had gone for; i was amazed to discover i had won it!
I then had to ride it back from matlock to burnley which was an unusual experience to say the least. it was missing like mad and the clutch was not at its best;traffic lights in the rush hour complete with a four speed gearbox that refused to go into neutral was a bit challenging. To top this the indicators were saying no.
Anyway its in the garage finally. The problem with the indicators turned out to be a mechanical flasher unit that was swinging freely under the tank and full of water. I have replaced this with an electronic item and this solved the problem.

Next the missing problem. When i checked the battery it was as much use as a trapdoor in a canoe, not holding a charge at all, so thats been replaced as well. The plugs looked tired, the front one looked more sooted than the rear. Replace. Also the spark is very weak (indicating a coil problem?). And thats where im at now. Ill send an update soon.
